Here we are summarizing the data, we are describing the characteristics of data and finding relation among the variables in data
What do we perform in descriptive statistics?
- We calculate central tendency – Mean, median and mode
- We also calculate measure of dispersion – Standard deviation and Variance
- Univariate analysis – Analysis done on single variable
- Bivariate analysis – Analysis done on 2 variable
- Multivariate analysis – Analysis done on 2 or more variables
Inferential statistics
Here we are coming with conclusions over population (Larger population) based on sample data (sample population)
What do we perform in inferential statistics?
- We do hypothesis testing with z test, Ptest, Ftest, chisquare, Anova
